Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Wedvue collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

Who we are

Wedvue (“we”, “us”) runs a wedding marketplace that connects couples with wedding professionals in India. For this policy, Wedvue is the data fiduciary for the personal data described below. Contact: hello@wedvue.in.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, phone number (if you add it), profile photo, and your sign-in method (email and password, or Google sign-in).
  • Wedding plans: details you save, such as your wedding date, city, guest count, budget, checklists and invitations.
  • Enquiries, bookings and messages: what you send to vendors and what they send you, including event dates, locations and notes.
  • Reviews and saved items: reviews you write, vendors you follow and photos you save.
  • Vendor listings: for professionals and businesses, your business details, services, prices, portfolio and availability — most of which you choose to publish.
  • Conversations with our AI assistants (Vera for couples, Copilot for vendors), so you can pick up where you left off.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and — when you open a vendor's profile — a record of that visit used for the vendor's profile-view statistics.

How we use it

  • To run your account and the marketplace: showing listings, delivering enquiries and messages, managing bookings.
  • To send notifications you've turned on, such as new messages or booking updates (including browser push notifications).
  • To answer your questions through Vera and Copilot.
  • To keep Wedvue safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.

We don't sell your personal data.

What vendors see

When you send an enquiry or book a vendor, they see your name and the details you include. Vendors on a premium plan can see the names of signed-in couples who viewed their profile in the last 30 days, along with when they visited; visitors who aren't signed in are only counted, never named.

Services we share data with

We use trusted providers to run Wedvue. They process data on our behalf:

  • Supabase — database, file storage and sign-in.
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Google — Google sign-in (if you use it), Google Analytics, and Gemini, the AI model behind Vera and Copilot.
  • Microsoft Clarity — anonymised usage analytics and session recordings; personal details on account pages are masked.

Some of these providers process data outside India. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies that keep you signed in and remember your preferences, such as the light or dark theme. We also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use Wedvue; they set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the site will still work, though you'll need to sign in again.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data — including your plans, messages and reviews — except where we need to keep some records for legal, tax or dispute reasons.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

  • ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct or update it — most of it directly in your profile;
  • delete it — you can delete your account from your profile settings, or ask us;
  • withdraw consent for optional processing;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights for you; and
  • raise a grievance with us, and if we don't resolve it, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these, email hello@wedvue.in. We'll respond as soon as we can and within the time the law requires.

Children

Wedvue is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

Changes

We'll update this page when our practices change and change the date above. For significant changes, we'll let you know through the site or by email. See also our terms of use.
